YAM F115 OIL CHANGE

After adding 4 qts, and running the engine for a min, I noticed that the oil level was between approx. 1/2 full mark. Should I add more oil?

no thats about where you want it. half way between full and add.

Why just 4 quarts? The capacity is 5 with a new filter. That info is in your owners manual and also on a sticker on the motor.

its what my service rep tells me too willy. somewhere near the half mark. it could have something to do with some fourstrokes propensity to make oil.

I see. So they're cheating and not taking care of the problem. Got it. Sounds like your typical "factory cure" which is nothing more than covering-up the REAL problem. Sounds more like a Merc solution. I expected better from Yamaha!
