I've got a friends boat here with a 1990s Yamaha 30 ELH. Motor idles fine, runs well until WOT .....then skips constantly. It doesn't totally cut out, just acts like it is misfiring. Any experiences with this out there? Thanks!
Primer bulb stays firm. Fuel pump appears to be working properly.
I am wondering if there is a rev limiter on this motor that may be cutting ignition at WOT. The prop he is running is lower pitch than I would expect, but he does carry heavy loads to his camp occasionally ....
