Hi all,

I'm going to wire my boat (once my engine is on) but im not sure about the factory 10 pin harness I just got. Will I need to get all yam parts for my dash to get everything to work.

I have a binicle control box that has wires for the tilt trim, but the harness has only two plugs on the end. I'd hate to cut and strip this.

So I guess my question is, how do I rig the tach trim/oil and the start switch and then the tilt trim when there is only 2 plugs at the end of my harness. Am I missing a harness?

Thanks

Mike

Re: Yam 150 wiring

I just re-read rodbolts reply to a message I left a while ago. I need a main harness (got it), alarm harness, oil tank harness (this one comes with the oil tank kit I got i think).

So on the two plugs at the end of the ten pin harness... one goes to the tach while the other goes to the ignition?

What about tilt trim?

Thanks!

Mike

Re: Yam 150 wiring

does tour binnicle have a trim switch?
trim switch binnicle harness will use a 5 pin pigtail. 2 browns for neutral start a red power and lt blue for up and lt green for down. if you buy all the correct stuff its plug and play.
at the swicth end of your main 10 pin harness. one plugs into the ign switch assy the other into the correct binnicle pigtail.

Thanks Rodbolt,

I went to the shop around the corner and through the woods, and they told me the same thing. Use all yamaha and you wont be sorry. SO I feel a little better about the 600 bucks I just droped on the binicle start switch and a few other things.

Ive got everything figured out now and should be good to go. Thanks for all the info.

Mike
