I just purchased an electric fuel pump for my Yam 150 to assist the 2 on the engine. I have a long run from the tank to the engine and the pumps on the engine cant handle drawing the fuel at high rpms.

BTW I checked everything else in the fuel system and all seems ok.

I got a Red holley Marine pump (PN 712-801-1) that pumps at max 7psi. What do I have to look out for when I install? I'd rather not have fuel flowing all over the place.

there is a third (smaller) hose connection on the pump. I assume this is a feed back hose connection?

Just saw on another post about a regulator. Do I need one of these?

Thanks

Personal prefernce has been the blue Holley since it comes with a regulator. I set the regulator at between 5-6 lbs. Be sure you use a filter in line before the pump to keep trash out of it. Over pressure will cause the fuel to blow by the needles. We normally remove the mechanical pumps and block the hole in the intake to keep the pumps from leaking into the crankcase. Hook the negative wire to the battery and the postive to a yellow lead from the harness so it goes on and off with the switch.
