I have an XRI 2.4L 200 HP EFI with a dead EFI. With the cost of a new brain box at 1500.00 That aint happening :)

What engines would be compatable to donate carbs and reed plate? Can I use from a 150 or does it have to be a 200 carb set?

Thanks Chuck

This may be an obvious question but can you not find a box used? I'd hate to go back to carbs after having efi. Granted, they aren't much better on fuel but they don't have any of the maintenance issues. Plus they start so easy. I have a 150 efi and HATE driving a carbed boat anymore. My outboard starts like my truck- turn the key and off I go.

I can't imagine finding all the pieces for the changeover at much less cost than finding a blown EFI engine. They've been around a long time.

You will need parts off a 200hp if you want to keep it a 200hp. You will need : carbs, linkage, intake, primer, air box and cover, and misc bolt, nut washers and hoses. It would be cheaper to order a ACU from Brucatosvs.com as its plug and play and $1000. You get rid of knock module,TPI and advance box. Below is picture of one I did this week.I got the ACU mounted backwards so I could fine tune idle and midrange sensitivity. if you still want carb the 1986-90 200 will get you what you need...
