I've been to a few boat shows in search to downsizing my boat from a 20' fiberglass Center Console to a lighter aluminum welded hull between 17'- 19'. In previous years, X press boats caught my attention with a lightweight, functional, and sporty design. However, all 3 dealers within a 100 mile radius of me have stopped carrying X press boats in their inventory line up. Although they may have one or two in remaining inventory and will gladly order (or aquire) a new one for me, I'm pressed to wonder why dealers are not carrying them anymore. The possibilities are too many to begin mentioning but I don't want to make the mistake of investing in a boat that may not afford manufacturer and/or dealer support. Should I be considering another manufacturer ?

Helpful Thoughts Appreciated!

Re: Xpress Boats

here I go again with another off site reference...(sorry)
I would be willing to bet there is an Xpress rep or someone else who could answer the question on Bass Boat Central.
Typically this is a contract thing in my experience. I had this same thing with Polar Kraft ( another good alum boat by the way) when I was shopping. I had the advantage of knowing two dealers personally and they both told me it was strictly a sales thing. The Polars were more expensive and did not sell as well the last two or three years and they both opted to replace their upscale alum models with fiberglass alternatives that have a better sales record....and sell lower end alum models.

Re: Xpress Boats

they are one of the best alum boats you can ever own. In particular, the ones with a coast guard hull. I have a 17ft and it runs great on windy days.
hull just cuts thru waves. Also, all weld, no rivets. I have had it for 15 years. i have a glass boat as well when fishing tournaments, but i enjoy my xpress. i can ding it, bump it and the boat is just great. Not water leaks.
