it depends onhow much you want to record. For a 8 megh card which mine came with I can record about 20 minutes with it. But since I hold all of my maps of all my favorite lakes I only have about 1 meg of memory left which only gives me about 2 min. But there is an extra slot for another card so if you put 64 megs in you could probably cover about 4 hours and it also depends on what you record.
