I have a 1990 WR500 and am not getting anything when I hit the start button. I have tried to jump start it and have replaced the starter relay. Any other ideas?

Thanks
did you go directly to the starter and ground the jumper cables, I would guess your battery cables went bad,if the starter turns over using a battery grounded to the engine and the positive cable put on the starter conection at the back of the starter ,then the starter is good and the wiring is the problem, did the selenoid make any noise when you tried to crank it with the button?
Ok here is what I have done and the results. I check the cables and after a night on the charger the battery is good and holding a charge. When I run a screwdrive across the starter relay the motor turns over. Would that indicate a bad starter swicth on the handlebar? That is my guess.
Well I started with the starter switch and worked my way down to the relay. I found the connecter just under the hinges had one wire that the connecter had come loose just a hair. That was it. Now its running pretty good. Just the carbs to adjust and weather to clear and we'll be on the water.

Thanks for the help.
