Could some one tell me if a crank from a E70ELCSA (1980) would suit as a replacement to my damaged one from a J60ELESM (1990).?

Look up the part numbers in the parts charts.

If the stock numbers are the same, you are good to go.

shop.evinrude.com

E70ELCSA crankshaft p/n 0317160

J60ELESM crankshaft p/n 0334665

I do not think they will interchange.

I don't think they'll interchange - somewhere in the 1980s they went from a 4-spline shaft at the driveshaft end to a fine spline. I know the 1980 has the 4-spline style and am pretty sure they were fine spline by 1990...

mine then does look to be fine spline. Very informative , thanks Chinewalker. Guess I'll keep on searching.
