Would Fuel problem cause No Oil Light Activation?

I have a 1998 175 FICHT and have been having a problem with the fuel bulb not staying firm, and boat shutting off. If you pump the bulb while under way, the boat will stay running. Have been told that the Lift pump needs replaced. However, when this happens the "No Oil" Light also comes on. Would a drop in fuel pressure to the motor also cause this light to activate? All help greatly appreciated.

Its feasible as the engine rpm may to falling below below ECU limits and then you catch it with fuel bulb, the ECU may think engine has just restarted and trips light.

your gas line could be dry rotted, or the pump itslelf. try replacing the hand pump and check your gas line for dry rots or cracks
