worth selling?

I was told the motor that came with my boat is a Johnson 1.5 Colt series. I'm not sure of the year, but it looks older than I am. My neighbor tells me that it would be considered vintage and that I could sell it online, possibly selling it close to what I need for a nice used 10hp. Any suggestions?

Unless you are real young that motor isnt younger than you. Looks like it is late 80's, probably 88. Certainly not vintage by any means, but grab a model number and we can tell you for sure, but my guess is 88.

I don't know what the market for a 1.5hp motor is, but my guess is it would have to be in exceptional shape to get you enough $ to buy a nice reliable 10hp motor. What does it run like? cleaning it up cosmetically can't hurt either.
