Can anyone tell me what my Johnson CD-11 5.5hp motor would be worth after restoration?

Depends on the quality of your resto, among other things.

Believe it or not there are lots of those around.----Worth whatever local demand is.-----Hope you run across someone who wants it for display in his $5,000,000 summer place.----That individual might remember fishing with grandpa.-----Or someone who needs it to catch fish to feed the kids.----You will not get rich or make more than minimum wage fixing it.-----I am fixing a 59 model 5.5 HP Evinrude. ----Was $20 and seized.-----Putting in a NOS crankshaft , needle bearing rods, coils , condensers and other bits..------For the grandson so time means nothing.

Depends what "restoration" means.

On the table at the flea market - $25
Mechanically restored and in running condition - $200
Mechanically AND cosmetically restored - $600

The guy who has it probably won't accept the base price until after he's had it for several years. The guy who did the full resto probably will never sell it.

non-running wall art - $100-$200
fully running outboard - $200 however may take a while to sell
fully running and cosmetically restored - $400-$600 - may take a while to sell

cost to get it there..... about as much as you will get for it.

restore the old motor because it means something to you. the only way to make a small fortune restoring motors is to start with a larger one.
