Of course these records are under scrutiny, but here are some pics of some World record Musky.......Maybe by seeing them some of you southern boys will understand why some of us up here have cabin fever.(Most of the World Record Musky's have come from Wisconsin Waters)

Heres a thumbnail (click to enlarge) of a large one.( Caught in WI)

Here are some pics of the current World Record.(Caught in the Chippeawa Flowage in Wisconsin)
I appreciate that DC is your favorite forum, Pony, but we have other fora specifically designated for discussions of particular topics, like fresh water fishing, for example. That is where this thread fits very well.

I think that one is about 40" and around 22lb, Walleyehed. Biggest danged "40" I ever caught. I was sure she would go mid 40s.

If she had gotten off at the boat she would have been a 50". :D

Those are some pretty good looking fish. I am too used to the South now and couldn't handle the winters anymore, but I vist when I can when the weather is nice. Sad thing is, is that I never caught one of those. I guess I'll have to stick with the bass down here.
Keep up the good fun!

Yea, Spots, but notice the tackle them Southern boyz was using. In the north we don't hunt gators with a bow, we use more traditional tackle, (well, Gonfishin excluded - we have all seen and heard about some of his unconventional tackle).

That there's a crockagator (alligator gar). We have them in the Brazos, but not that big.

Thou shalt not eat. Some parts are toxic.

Re: World Record Fish

When I was a kid back home in Wisconsin, we used to carp fish at night. We'd chop a hole in the ice and put a lantern over it and use fish arrows to get them when they were attracted to the light. And yup! We had Zebcos taped to our bows!

We'd catch a bunch of the fish and sell them to an old Polish lady who would then pickel them. Pretty good stuff.

Re: World Record Fish

Anyone who has ever had a Musky or even a Pike for that matter on with light spinning tackle knows what a rush it can be............for example 6lb test, 7ft med-light action rod, spinner
