Re: World Junior Hockey, X days and COUNTING!
Yeah but its good for those of us with the losing record to see you guys eat a little crow now and then!!
....you know even as the 'eater' of said event....I fully agree Lipp.
Its good for the sport and competition to not always have highly predictable outcomes even tho' everyone, everywhere always wants to win...and its a bit of a religious experience up here.
That said, what I'm enjoying is how the Swiss Juniors have been turning it up over the last few years...with some very big upset games. They are starting to get a lot more respect than say...10 years ago or thereabouts.
What is really great is that most of these kids...at least the top ones....are usually all playing their Juniors in North America with many (most?) in the CHL.
We have a CHL junior team here in town (WHL: Victoria Royals) and its great to see a lot of international content. I think we have 5 or 6 U.S players on the team...including the top scorer (Logan Nelson)...as well as some Swedish players, etc. I think the game is getting better and faster due to this international amalgamation and its nice to see the players visiting quite a bit team to team on the ice...often because they are teammates elsewhere outside the tournament.
Its a great tournament!!
....now I have to go check when that first game is going to be telecast on boxing day....given the fact its coming from across the pond.
All Good
