Well...big day today with the Swedes meeting the Slovaks and Canada meeting up with the Legendary Russkies....should be great.
That said I don't think the elimination/medal qualification round set-up was the best I've ever seen.
For the Slovaks to advance and the U.S not to advance just didn't make sense to me. The U.S should have been competing in the semi-finals for sure...particularly when they placed so high prior to the finals....with just that single game against the Russians knocking them out.
On the other hand it is one of the things that makes all of the games nail biters when you simply have one shot to lay it all on the line...win or lose....no 'best of' series stuff.
Regardless, this afternoon will be interesting....I hope the Slovaks lay a beating on the Swedes, although I doubt it....lol
I was pulling for the Russians and glad to see them head to the Bronze Medal game with the Russkies advancing.
As for the Russians...its going to be interesting, they are fast and they are working hard to come back after taking a back seat for a lot of years to other European teams.
