Thanks revkev6. I actually just pulled the trim pump and tested both of the solenoids and the pump, which were working. I ended up pulling the whole thing apart and emptying the fluid reservoir, which was also full of gunk and cleaned everything up.

After re-assembling, I put some fresh ATF in (it was previously filled with red ATF), and put it all back together on a new, stainless steel bracket - so no more rusted bracket. What prompted the rebuild was that I was getting no power to my gauges, no horn, no radio etc... all on a freshly charged battery and so I figured maybe the pump was bad and that's why the outdrive won't move.

Well, now that it seems that's not the issue, I'm going to call a marine auto-electrician to help me trouble shoot the issue so that I can get full power to everything and work my way though the engine. After rebuilding the carburetor, I'll tackle the manifold and pull off the starter to see if I can get the block to turn over.

Oh - the propeller did spin, so I guess it is in neutral, but it made a slight clicking sound when I spun it by hand. Is that to be expected?

You need to remove all the ATF and replace with 10W30 oil.

Its not unusual so leave it for now. If you have no trouble with it shifting then your good

Ok, thanks Alldodge.

Once I get the electrics working, what is my best option to pump out it out? As aside from the reservoir, I imagine that there will also be fluid in the hoses etc...

Thanks in advance.

After dumping the reservoir. I would disconnect the lines at the rams, then disconnect one end of the rams off the drive. Manually pull the ram out which will push most of it out. Blow the lines out, then reconnect everything, refill and run it up/down a little at a time watching so the reservoir does go dry. What little AFT remains will mix and be OK
