Wood For my floor!!!!!

Hey there !<br /><br />I have to rip out my floor and redo it. Can i use regular preasure treated plywood? Once the floor is installed do i really need to glass the whole floor? <br /><br />Thanks!!!! :confused:

well, you can do whatever you want but i wouldn't go through the trouble of re-doing a floor without making sure it never needed to be done again.<br /><br />the floors in my boat were poorly sealed in 1987, i'd hate to see what they would look like now with no glass at all. you need to glass the stringers, the floor, the edges, seal the spots where you secure the seats...not the job to skimp on.

I would glass the entire floor to seal out any moisture and keep water and rain from getting into places that you dont want it.Charlie

ASI - Best bet is to jump over to the Project Boats Section and browse to your hearts desire. The Search function at the top of the page is also very powerful.<br /><br />Most folks will tell you to use glass over plywood, check the stringers when you have the floor ripped up as they are probably rotten too and use regular (not pressure treated) ply as glass does not adhere particularly well to PT ply.
