My 88evinrude xp10 has a bit carb.problems, it wont run without choke, hard to start, HELPHELPHELP<br /><br />sparkplugs; champion l77jc4 or something like that.
Rebuild and clean carb. Classic symptoms! QL77JC4 is the plug you need gapped at .030<br /><br />Make sure you have a Manual to do this, although it is not hard to do
The inside of the carb has seals and gaskets and rubber parts. Over time they can dry out and crack. Like mentioned dirt can also build up over time. Get you a manual and it will explain everything in detail about how to rebuild the carb. It is easy and not to expensive to do. One other note I just helped a budy with a 6 H.P. carb redo and now it appears the float is bad. While you have it apart it might be a good ideal to put a new one of those in, the kit he bought didn't have one.
