Won't idle

volvo penta 5.7 wont start after docking for 15 minutes. when I went to start have to rev it or it dies. also bogging now.

When was the last full tune up performed? Any warning horn/fault data retrieved? Does the engine start and idle when cold? Is this TBI or MPI?

First guess is the idle air control valve. What's your serial number?

So many things. Fuel pumps and pressure okay at the rails? Fuel regulator clogged with paint?

Bad fuel is always suspect this time of year

If there ever was a problem with water in the fuel it could be rust from the inside of the fuel rail getting into the fuel injectors.
