wont boot up

when i turn key to on position I only get 1 beep not 2 like normal gauges on dash dont engage. Engine will turn over but dont start. It had been doing this intermittently but know it pretty much is out of commission. Took it to boat repair shop 2 hours away they had it for over 3 weeks brought it home put it on the fake a lake started it let it run for no more then 5 min. turn it off tried it again same problem. Oh by the way paid boat shop almost $1400.00 all labor no parts. any idea's thanks

What are we working on? All boat engines aren't the same. Be very specific, and engine serial numbers or full model numbers are always best.

Welcome to iboats!:welcome:

Before trying to fix this yourself, get in touch with the shop that did the work. That's a lot of money for labor with no parts needed. Tell them the problem isn't fixed and give them a chance to make it right, or, alternately seek to get your money back.

1 beep when you turn it is what you are supposed to get.
When you got it home and it ran the first time, did the gauges work while it was running?


When you crank the engine over now, do you have spark from the coil?

yes 1 peep when turn key on and a couple seconds later should be second peep and gauges come on. yes gauges work fine no spark from the coil

I don't understand the second beep and the gauges coming on a couple seconds later. Do you have Smartcraft gauges?
