wobbly prop

Just bought 1980 7.5 Evinrude. prop has about 1/8 side to side play on shaft. upon removal i see two flat groves in brass hub causing slop. should this have shims or is it wrong prop? this is shear pin style. Thank You.

OMC used that old style prop hub on many of its engines--even the big ones. Even with the slots the prop should not have side to side play. Either the hub is the incorrect size for the prop shaft OR the hub is worn beyond use.
