I haven't had a boat for a long time. I don't have the money to winterize it right now and winter is creeping up. I bought the foging oil and fuel stabilizer but I noticed the carbs are covered with a gasket and plate. It has a vro tank. Any help is much appreciated.

Here is the way I winterizw mine.
Put fuel stabalizer in the tank and run the engine long enough to get stabalizer in the carbs. Disconnect the fuel line and run the engine dry.

Pull the spark plugs and squirt fogging oil in to each cylinder, turn the engine over by hand a couple times and put the plugs back in.

****

The plate is simple enough to remove to give you access to squirt the fogging oil into the carbs. I believe running a VRO without the fuel line connected will cause the flow of fuel to stop, but not the oil. It will fudge up the carbs big time. Use the stabilizer, fog the carbs. Pull the spark plugs and fog the cylinders, change gear lube (new vent/fill screw gaskets) and remove prop to grease the shaft. That's the most basic winterization you should feel comfortable with, and it really doesn't cost a lot of $.

And I might add store with the engine all the way down to prevent puddleing in the gearcase thru hub exhaust area.

When I remove that plate do I have to get new gaskets or can I just spray into the airintake to get the fogging oil into the carbs?
