Re: wisco pistons

wisco is a very reputable company, and makes pistons for just about anything.
and their prices are very good, give them a call.

Re: wisco pistons

I've used Wiseco pistons , but not in a 'zuki, and they're good pistons but they're forged pistons which, for the lack of a better word, makes them a little fragile. The last pistons I replaced, I used Promarine. They're a good, cast piston and are a lot more forgiving. I like 'um and that's all my outboard machinist buddy is using now.

c/6

Hooty

Re: wisco pistons

I used them in my Suzuki RM250, the dual ring system. I noticed a difference in performance. Much better.

I dont know if it applies to outboards, but I think that most use 3 rings, and I think that wiseco uses 2. Dont know if that makes a difference, that is just how it is in motorcycles.

When rebuilding outboards, I always use the factory pistons. It is not good to mix forged and cast pistons.

Weisco is a very good piston, but like everyone else said they are forged. If you do decide to go with them allow extra break in time.

Make sure you get the 31 series. The 30 series is a bit older without the electra coating.

What model motor? I'll get you the correct number to order.

Good luck!
