Have a 50hp Force with US Marine Controller. Engine is wired and starts fine. Problem: Four wires exit from contollerthat my owners manual does not show how or where to wire them to. My guess is that they are for gauges. Question: How do I determine which wire goes where and how they should be wired? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Re: Wiring

Have you looked in the Clymer manual? If not, if you post up the colors of the wires, etc and the year of your outboard perhaps someone can help you.

Re: Wiring

I believe that the orange one is to run to the overheat buzzer. As for the others I cannot remeber the colors of the wires off the top of my head.

TMD

Re: Wiring

Orange = Overheat buzzer
Purple = Tach<----Might be wrong here. I am not at work right now to look. Check it for 12volts with key in ON position..If it has 12 volts its an accessories wire.
Black = Ground
Pink....NO IDEA Cannot even guess.

TMD

Re: Wiring

As far as the book is concerned (the one I'm looking at right now), the violet (purple) is the tach at least on the powerhead side. I cannot find a pink w/blue stripe.
