I put this in electrical, but I got nothing.
Having just started going over the boat I just bought, a 1996 295 Pro XL Stratos, I`m a bit stumped. There were no batteries in the boat when I got it.
I`m fully aware of how to get 24 Volts out of the two new Trojan Group 31 batteries, but I`m unsure of the wiring in the boat. The previous owner was abviously (Or maybe not) just running the motor on 12 volts as only two of the four wires were being used. (Others were taped up) And, that`s the question. There are two 6G red wires and two 6G black wires running up to the trolling motor, as I mentioned, two, (one red and one black) are not being used. Do I run both together, both black to the negative side of 24V and the two reds to the Pos side of 24V?
There is no switch on the trolling motor that says 12V or 24V.?
