I recently had a new motor installed on my boat. Everything works great, but they left my boats power wires (the wires that power my lights, bilge pump, and ariator)off of the battery. After running my new engine a couple days, I decided to hook up my boats power wires to my battery which was running my motor. When I did this, it started messing up all my guages, and makeing my warning alarms sound, like something was wrong with my engine. After disconecting the boats power wires everything on my egine started acting normal again. What does this sound like?? I really want to run my boats power wires off of the same battery as my engine. I dont want to use my trolling motor batteries, because that will be a 24 volt system. Thanks guys Bill

wow, that sounds like a good one. first off, for starters, make sure u dont have the pos. and neg. hooked wrong on any of the wires. then check to make sure when they changed the motor, they did not short or pinch any of your wiring.other than that, im not sure...bob

if nothing changed except getting a new motor, it is odd what you're experiencing. if you know which battery the connctns were on before, they should go back there with no probs. but if you just got the 24v setup, moved your battery connctns all around, then i think you're either tapping into 24v or have neg/pos leads mixed up on your access powr connctns.

you might need to separate the access connections as much as possible, and touch them to hot(+) one at a time, to help isolate the problem.
