I have a wiring issue on my console. I don't think it is from my charging system from my motor.when I hook my battery charger unto my battery. It says 12.5V but when i turn on my GPS it says 10v and when I have my radio on and turn on my GPS the radio goes off until the GPS comes on and the the radio plays again. Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this. I have a manual but it doesn't give me a detailed wiring diagram of the wiring harness from the engine to the console. Thanks for any ideas on this in advance.

Are you sure you're battery is fully charged?

thats a good sign that you have a dirty or corrode wire connection. Clean all the terminals especially the large ground to the battery and the large positive to the fuse block

Yes it is a brand new battery. When I connect it to the charger it goes to the fully charged lights and has an led display of 12.5v my GPS says 11.1 and jumps around from 8.6 ti 11 .1 this is with the engine not running. It does the same thing when engine is running but the engine loses power and shuts down.

Re: Wiring on console messed up

I had a mechanic come out and it was what the Lieutenant Commander said it was bad grounding plus he fixed my gas tank while he was here. When I bought the boat they said it was not any good, but he checked it out and flushed it out. No leaks works fine. I was able to take out the smaller plastic tanks I was using. Worth the trip for a grounding problem thanks commander

np seaman apprentice robin glad you got it fixed

p.s ignore the ranks it just proves who spends longer on the net than on the boat. you can just shorten peoples names to what ever seems to fit like "gpop"
