Help a newbie please.
I have a 58 Lark with the original harness. I would like to go with a push button starting setup. The wiring diagram shows how to hook up a keyed ignition (I assume push to choke). I am not fond of the sight and smell of fried electrics, so I hope somebody can supply me with instructions and/or a diagram to wire a starter and choke button.
Thanks.

Re: Wiring help

Do you want keyed ignition or separate start and choke buttons (that take two fingers to operate by the way). If you want separate buttons, then you forgot one thing -- once the engine is running, how do you intend to stop it? Requires one more "Stop" button. And it also leaves the boat vulnerable to theft. Please clarify what you really want.

Re: Wiring help

Key word here, Silvertip, "newbie". Thanks for the response, but I got a useful answer from the gentlemen at aomci.
BTW, if I wanted somebody to tell me how stupid I am, I would have asked my wife.

Hmmm -- why not tell me how you really feel? So I take it the gentleman also showed you how to stop the motor?
