Just rebuilt a 1976 351 winsor , and l'm just about ready for my first start. My problem is, l have my engine on a stand, and l would like to wire a push button switch to start it up, but l haven't been able to find the right wiring diagram for the harness on the engine. I see number on the harness, just need to find out what goes were. All help would be greatly appreciated..

Re: Wiring harness..

I would try posting that question in "engine repair and maintainance" sub-forum. This one is for inflatable boats. Good luck.

What type outdrive is hooked to it? Any model or serial number?

Re: Wiring harness..

Assuming you have the standard Ford starter without a solenoid attached, you should have a starter solenoid mounted on the engine somewhere. One of the large terminals on that solenoid goes to the battery or battery switch you need to and one of the small terminals is marked with an S.
Hook your starter button to those two terminals.

I would also not start the engine on the stand, put the mounts on it and sit it on blocks on the floor where it's much more solid.
