Wiring electric start

Hi all,

I have a 1975 15hp Johnson electric start. I'm settitng it up on a new boat. Is it ok to wire this into the deepcycle battey? Does this motor have any charging benifits for the battery?

no charging benefit, the motor has no problem with the deep cycle battery, the battery does not like to be discharge like that though.
