I have three 12V batteries on my boat. Two of them are wired in series for the 24V trolling motor only. The other is the engine cranking battery and house (everything else). I have a 4 position battery switch which I can set to charge 1,2 or both batteries. I think I can figure out how to connect the cranking battery, but I am not sure how to connect the second battery which the switch can be wired to charge.

Re: Wiring battery switch

Trent,<br />Thanks for the Diagrams. They are what Im looking for, I just wish they showed the configuration of batteries that I have, that is; one cranking 12V and two 12V connected in series(24V) for the trolling motor. I think that I can hook one battery of the 24volt system (2 12 volt batts in series) to the switch, and then my starting battery to the switch. The thought here is that I have an emergency cranking battery (one battery from the TM pair). Will this work? Is it a good idea? Also, if I'm running and turn the switch to "Both" I'll charge the starting battery and ONE battery in the 24V Series. Is this a bad thing for a trolling motor? (i.e. running a trolling motor on two batteries in a different state of charge) Just toying with the idea, but I dont' want to screw up the charging system in my boat, or my trolling motor.
