Wiring gas tank
I have a aluminum gas tank with a fuel gauge built in. The problem is the wires they not connected
The gauge that in the tank only has two connections to it. One is for ground I think the other is for that is my question do just connect the other one to my fuel meter then to power. I have not looked at how the wiring is done on my meter yet. But I guess I find which one was the giving it power and which one went to gas tank gauge. And see that works.

Also for the ground I going ground to the ground on my engine is that good. Our do I use the negative on the battery or both I think will be ok if not let me know.

If any one know how to just wire a to my gas tank gauge and to my meter which tell me how much fuel I have with a simple switch to turn on when I want check it. Might help

Re: Wiring aluminum gas tank

Hey madecool...

The center post of the gas tank level sender is the signal to the level gauge. Power to the gauge (probably marked ignition) can come from some 12volt accesories point or accessories connection on the ignition switch. When the engine is started, the gauge will start working. Ground can be run to any good battery ground. Hope we've helped.
