I have a 1967 mercury 950 thunder bolt ingition 6 cyl ! I would like to know if it runs but i don't have a key and before i put alot of money in it<br />color code is;<br />red<br />black<br />gray<br />yellow<br />pink<br />brown<br />white<br />green<br />I think i would like to put in new switch but before i do that it needs to run
<br /><br />i haven't got the foggiest idea of that motor, but unless its really unique, it is an old points type ignition. so, you might just want to forget the ign swtch, and 'hot wire' the puppy.<br /><br />as in, getting some little alligator clip wires from the autoparts store. then connecting from the coil to battery. you would want to connect to post on coil opposite the lead going to points. then i imagine you'll have to pull start the motor. unless it has a starter. if you don't follow this info, and you don't get more/better info, you might try this link:<br />
