94 Rinker 190 4.3 merc, alpha 2 outdrive, I pulled all plugs and unhooked the hoses and drained last year, is there an easier way? I thought there was some way to pump antifreeze into it, also what about greasing the gimble bearing? is it hard to get the unit off? as the boat shops want 250.00 to 300.00, I am mechanically inclined and do all my other work on boat or cars, Just dont want to get in over my head or do something I shouldent do, as I dont know much abolut outdrives other than changing the impeller, I dont want any water leaks, or is it just best to take it to the boat shop, any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Look at the top of the threads page and you will see a GREAT article by Don that gives you specifics on how to winterize. Follow that and you will be fine.

I would avoid those contraptions that let you add antifreze thru the muffs. Do it wrong & your engine will be an anchor come spring.
