Is my 3.0 litre mercruiser and 181 cube iron duke motor subject to water freezing in the motor or outdrive if the temps get low enough for a freeze in
Florida??? It happens sometimes but not very often or for very long during
the worst of winter. Should I just try to make sure most of the water is out.
Or do I need to loosen stuff and open petcocks and all that jazz just for a few
hours at below freezing temps???

Attention All sea dogs !

The Sea Hag is back !

North Floiduh can get cold enough.....
I'd familiarize myself with the procedure....
If you are going to let it sit for a long time or are going to be out of town, I'd drain it......;)

FL can be one of the worst states for freeze damage because people don't prepare for it. If you use the boat year round you don't have to do a full winteriztion but should make sure you drain the block, manifolds, PS cooler if freezeing temps are expected.
