Im getting ready to store my 18' and the motor is staying on it, covered but in the NY elements. What i do with anything else with a motor is.... run it dry then put a teaspoon of MARVEL MYSTERY OIL in the cylinder and turn it over without the plugs in it to coat everything then replace the plugs.

I hear a lot about STA-BILIZE and FOG oil.... Is adding STA-BILIZE and running it through the system and fogging it before shutting it off ENOUGH to keep the carbs from gumming up?

Stabilized fuel will gum up the carbs less, then unstabilized fuel. In NY, stabilized fuel will be fine over your winter. So....
Stabilize the fuel, run the motor to circulate the stabilized fuel, spray fogging oil into carbs and try to stall her out. After she is fogged, turn motor off and let her drain. Change gear oil, grease fittings and steering rod. Charge the batteries and disconnect them.

That should take care of it.

^^^^^ What he said. Some people like to run the carbs dry or drain them. I never did. To me it's personal preference....

....and make certain that the drain hole in the shift shift void is open. :)
