I have a 10hp 57' rude. I know to change the gear lube and to spray fogging oil in the spark plug holes. What about the carb? Is there a way to spray fogging oil directly into carb while running or just run it out of gas?

Thanks.

we use to just run them out of gas, new way is to mix seafoam in the fuel, and just run the motor, spray fogging oil into the carb throat until it dies, then do the cylinder.

Do as TD says. I just use fuel stabiliser instead of Seafoam in the gas since its cheaper. Or just store your motor in a nice warm place like your basement and you won't have to winterise it.

Also change the lower unit oil or at least drain it before storing it over winter. If you have water in there it may damage/destroy the gearcase. And you probably do since its 50 years old.

Where do u spray it in at? Carb. is different from my '72 rude which u can spray in directly. The carb of the '57 the choke is enclosed in the carb.
Thanks.

Take off the air silencer, open the throttle a bit and spray it in.

Look for a small chrome button in the silencer. Pop it out and spray through the hole. That's what it is there for.
