I just bought a used Crownline this summer with an Alpha One 4.3LX Mercruiser. I think it's a 1992 or 1993. I have the manuals, but they're not very descriptive. I live in Texas and keep the boat inside. Would it be acceptable to just drain the water out of it for the winter, or do I need to put antifreeze in the cooling system? If it is acceptable to just drain the water, how many drain plugs are there and where are they? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have to do the antifreeze thing. the owner's manual has the best description of how to winterize that motor. I would get it and follow it. You don't want to take someone's well intentioned advice and miss a plug.<br />
