Neub here--hope I am posting this is the right forum--
I have a 1985 Mercury 75 and I am wanting to winterized my boat myself (1985 Dixie 175). I found a check list but the only thing that I cannot locate it the block drain screw. I ordered a manual for the motor yesterday but I wanted to go ahead and start tinkering with it. Google was no help. Any help would be much appreciated! -Erik

Depending on where you live, winterizing may be nothing more than covering the boat, especially I the storage period is just a couple of months. Most important is to drain the lower unit and refill with fresh lube. Add fuel system treatment such as Stabil or Sea Foam and then run the engine long enough to get the treated fuel into the engine. Shut it off, store it vertically, charge the battery once a month or so and be happy. For long periods of layup, many folks like to "fog" the engine.
