I am planning on replacing the deck on my pontoon over the winter, so I'm not to worried about the boat. But how should I put the motor away for the winter? Sta-bill in the gas for sure, but what else should I do?

Remove prop, run the motor until warm with the stabilized fuel. Now spray fogging oil into carbs until she stalls. If no stall, when she starts a smoking, turn her off. Let water drain, change gear oil, grease fittings and clean and lube steering rod.

After you shut it off and the mtr is done draining turn the mtr over about three times to get any water out of the water pump. It's a northern thing.

Never thought about that. It could be the fail of many pumps. But isn't the water gonna seep back down into the pump afterwards?

I said after it was done draining. Used that trick up north a lot.
