winter storage

my lower unit has been broke since mid July so motor has not been used for 4 monthes I now want to winterize my powerhead How can I get antifreeze in the powerhead without a lower unit to circulate the antifreeze to the block. :confused:

Powerhead? If it's an outboard, drop the lower unit all the way down and water will drain out. If you have a I/O, check your owner's manual and open all drain cocks and let water out.<br /><br />g'luck & c/6<br /><br />hooty

outboard dont wory let it drain but if it is an io i am from ohio and i like using antifreeze in them because it keeps the water jackets from rusting internally when you drain them and let them sit for 5 months at a time. but outboards it doesnt really matter. on io's i have seen rust problems when they get old
