Is the hull supposed to be a ballast? I mean Is the space beneath the floor supposed to be airtight between the floor and the hull? (The floor has some cracks in it)

There are a couple of stringers that are pretty soft. If put in a parallel stringer and put a 1/8 or 1/4 plywood floor and glass over it, am I adding too much weight?

Also looking at adding a couple of wet/dry wells into the floor and a couple of hatches.

I have been reading about gel coating the inside of the hull.

If the floor has cracks and the stringers are soft, you have bigger issues lurking. I would head over to the resto section as you're about to become a member of the "Stringer, Transom, and Floor" club.

**Sistering a stringer isn't the correct way to fix this issue.
