I want to use an Email Client Program on my relatively new Win7 Laptop. I downloaded WLM 2009 for a friends XP laptop when OE quit working with his Hotmail Email. I found that it had quite a bit different user interface than OE had. I found that unnecessary and aggravating.

Looking at a screenshot of the Mozilla Thunderbird program, it looked more familiar.

Also, if anyone could explain the difference between POP3 and IMAP setups, it would be helpful.

I can't explain the differences, but all I can say that Mozilla Thunderbird is a great email program, I have over 8 email address between mine and my wife's all into one program and can read anything that comes in for any email account and it's free from Mozilla, if you choose what email address you have while setting up a new email account in Mozilla Thunderbird it'll choose which it'll use as far as POP3 and IMAP, it did for me anyways. I have used this for over a year now without any problems at all with it..
