My Rinker 265 has no drain hole in the locker. I just installed the class 31 and the 2 1/2 `` hole is open to the sea water spray and rain. How do you remedy this. Do they sell a cover for the class31? Any help would be Great.

Thanks,
John:confused:

You need a drain hole in your rope locker. All windlasses have the hole where the rode passes through pretty much wide open, that's why you need a drain. Hell, you need a drain even without a windlass!

At the lowest point aft on the starboard side, drill a 3/8" through the hull. On the outside of the hull, cover the hole with a 1" clamshell, oriented so the clamshell is facing downward and aft at about 45 degrees...good to go!

You would think the factory should of did this already. SOB.
Now this may seem like a stupid question .Wouldnt there be sea water coming through the clam shell?

The lowest point of your anchor locker is probably 3' above the waterline. Also by orienting the clamshell aft this will allow any waves/wakes you pond through to travel right over it. Just make sure you seal all around the clamshell with 4200, including the mounting holes.

I work for a builder, I've done this a few times...;)
