OK maybe a dumb question.

I've got a pulpit with a roller on my boat. There is a hole about a foot to the rear and 6" to the stbd side of the anchor opening where the rope drops down into the rope locker.

I know nothing about windlasses. Other than the fact that I would love to be able to drop and retrieve the anchor from the helm instead of tiptoeing my way up front to do it especially in a chop.

What's the best way to set up a windlass so that it will get the rope into the locker? What type do I need? I have about 6 to 8 feet of chain ahead of the rope. Or will I still need to go into the cabin and pull the rope down manually?

Help!

Thanks,

Cool Charlie thanks. Found them, and they're actually only about 15 minutes from my house.

I didn't realize how much they cost, though! Ouch. Probably going to wait a while on that now. :)
