Fishing was slow this morning but was a winner nonetheless. Felt some dead weight on my jig and pulled it in. Was a shimano Clarus casting rod paired with a shimano curado DC. This thing couldn’t have went overboard long ago. The reel is the latest one. Looks like it was its first day out when it went in the drink, I had to straighten one finger on the star drag . Rinsed it off, cast like a dream. Tomorrow tear it down clean and lube. Reel goes for 250$ plus.

Looks like the backlash monster got it. I never could adjust mine correctly - it sits relegated to being a dust collector. Probably why it went overboard??

Dang that sucker slipped over board a few months ago, just box it up and send it to me. I'll cover shipping and a finder fee:)

No it wasn’t backlashed , just a little loose line hanging out there from when I cut it.

I posted on the message board for the lake I was fishing. Just posted that I fished out a rod and to message me with description and location. Wow did a lot folks loose rods, actually I’ve done it myself. After wading through the messages a guy described the rig and actually sent me a lake map with the area circled. Turns out it’s a young kid still in high school, said he fished for it for hours. A 400$ set up had to set a young kid back a bit. Glad to be returning it to him this afternoon.

You have a good soul Mr. Flathead......not many folks would have done that. The kid is lucky that you found it. Of course it helped that it was a small private lake, but still......good job!
