I pull over an 4klb 19'er on a tandem axle trailer with a '99 F-150 with a 4.6. You should have no worries.

Make sure your mirror is adjusted so you can see a bit of the boat when you glance at it.

With that truck, you may not even know its back there without checking often.

Hi, Realgun.

The only thing you need to know you didn't ask: What is the tow rating of your truck as equipped?

It is probably well above the weight of your rig, but you didn't tell us if it has the towing package(tranny cooler, heavy duty cooling and alternator, oil cooler), what differential ratio, what hitch, what tranny, etc.

Yes, it is big enough and heavy enough. That is NOT what matters most.

Class IV tow hitch and both 7 and 4 pin wiring Factory installed. Oil and tran cooler also. Rated at 8000 pounds trailer weight.

Got the same boat. Even my Jeep Wrangler 4.0 pulls it without problems. My Durango acts like it's not even there.

Re: Will this pull my boat?

The ford Ranger 3.0L pulled it fine however up the steep ramp it took a lot of pedal. Also it had no cruise, tilt, four doors, or a rear seat. Have two kids and the wife and needed the room.
Besides the F-150 is nicer.

Beezee28 The colors are correct you didnt see my white Dog? I am going with a grey stripe after I fix and paint the boat. Will match the grey Interior.

I have been able to pul the trailer after I replaced the 2 fuses in the used truck. Some people just blow fuses and leave them in?
And to top it off the wiring I did to the trailer was not Perfect. The ground wire was loose and causing me headaches too as I though the ground on the truck was rubbed somewhere and broken. Thank God for volt meters and the ability to know how to use it. :)
Now my problem is the chains were custom length for the Ranger and to stort for the F-150. So off I go to buy new chains Shheeesh.

I agree, JB. Ought to be a rule against people asking pretend newbie questions just so they can show off their new rig.

Nice rig, Real.

Re: Will this pull my boat?

You'll have no trouble with pulling power and stopping on pavement...but with 2-wheel drive you may have issues on slippery ramps and inclines. I have an identical rig with 4-wheel drive but live in a cold climate. Those who bought 2-wheel drive Supercrews around here (New England) can't give them away and the dealers don't want them in trade. With just two or three inches of snow on the ground I need to use FWD to go over the 2-inch lip of my garage entrance. The Supercrew is disproportionally light in the rear end due to the fiberglass body panels...you did know the quarters and hood are fiberglass, right? You've probably already experienced spinning wheels on wet pavement, just take it easy and you'll be fine in your climate.

Re: Will this pull my boat?

Bassman283 you are correct but I see a lot of questions in this forum about will the truck or whatever pull my new or potential boat and they should know it would. Or they are to lazy to read the manual. Or better yet do a search.
Looks are decieving that boat needs a lotta work. I do post somethings in the restore area.
MrBill the Truck has an aluminum hood. :)

Jb you can delete this post if you want no issues here.
