will this exhaust manifold work for me?

I have a 1975 Mercruiser 140hp I/O. My exhaust manifold is cracked. Will a exhaust manifold from a 1984 Mercruiser 140hp I/O work on my engine?

Also, if not, Is it possible for me to weld up my manifold at a weld shop that welds cast, and be successful? Or should I try to find a good used one. WHat years do I need to be in.

You should buy a new one. a bad exhaust manifold can ruin your engine...

I can assure you an 1884 manifold will not work on your 1975 engine. And you really should buy new. Marine manifolds are, like spark plugs, just one of those parts best bought new.

Ya I won't chance it. I just wanted to ask as I see blocks being welded up, I just wanted to know if the manifold could be also. I have a line up in town to buy a complete engine, hopefully it is good.

I was hoping the 1984 manifold would work as I found one for cheap, too bad.
