First of all, Most of the time the boat is in the garage. But, for the times when it needs to be outside, I want a cover for it. I thought about a tarp, but they are notorious for moisture getting in...

So I was looking at walmart and saw this cheapie cover. IT says that it is for v hulls, but I have a tri-hull (73 mfg gypsie 14). Will this still fit?

I have that cover too. There is a lot of room in the front so it MAY work. Course no problem returning it to Wally World if it doesn't :) Good luck getting it back in the darn box though!

Get one of these for sure: http://www.overtons.com/modperl/pro...Support&str=cover support&merchID=1008&r=view

And get these or make something yourself that does the same thing as my windshield edge did wear holes in this cover after a season:

These covers aren't the greatest obviously but they do keep the water out and ours has lasted 3 years though I think I could use a new one now. Where we park our boat during the season is wooded and everything gets nasty with tree dirt so I'd rather get a new Wal-Mart cover every couple years than ruin an expensive cover.

Re: will this cover fit my boat?

Wally's covers are great for the price. I've used the same one for the last 3 boats for over 5 years already. I think I paid $34 for it.

Even though I just had a $579 custom made trailerable cover made for my boat last week I still use the Wally World cover to cover the new cover when in my driveway or at a motel. Keeps the bugs, bird doo, tree sap etc off it.

Keeps the expensive top out out of sight of local thieves by covering the nexpensive top with the cheapo Wally cover. The custom cover came with support poles so by covering it with the cheap cover I don't need two support system.

Don't try trailering with it as it will tear instantly from the wind at highway speeds from the material flapping.

The worst offenders are cats who like the nice warm hammock like surface to park themselves on. When they get startled they dig their claws in when they jump off. They do this on the hood of my car too!

The other posters tips are correct, It does stretch and will fit looser latter on so get a support system or water will puddle up and pour in anyway.

Also follow instruction with any top and don't use detergent to wash them or you will remove the waterproofing.

The material is super tough but I did manage to put a small tear in it last year and I slapped a piece of duck tape on it and it's still fine a year later.

Even if you spend more online you will probably get the same top only in a different box!

yah make sure you get supports.. last night i didt put th supports up thinking it wouldnt rain.. woke up to a good 5 inches on the cover that was touching the deck. and about 1/2 in the back toward the bilge. its a good cover you have supports.
