Will these carbs off this 87 Mercury 175 HP S/N OB242396 work on my 83 mercury 150 SN 6424308 thanks

Should work fine. Might be a bit phat. Start with the original jets in the carbs, and maybe change a bit after you read the plugs. Do not put the jets from the original carbs in the new ones. Jet sizing goes more with carb specs than engine it's mounted on, and they vary quite widely.

Should be a bigger bore, which will hurt your hole shot a bit, but might add a tad on the top end. With a vert front 2.0 I doubt you'd notice it.

If the problem with the original carbs is sunk foam floats, just move the floats over from the 175 set. Needles and seats will transfer also. Unless you have wacked castings or major missing linkage parts, yer original carbs would probably serve better than the bigger ones. I'm assuming they are all WH(xx) carbs.

They will work but you will have to jet them down as the 1987 175 was a 2.4L motor and yours is a 2.0L. They will not add any hp but will improve midrange torque a little. All Merc WH series carbs are the same bore the only differences are in the emulsion tubes, jets and the WH22 series have a slightly bigger venturi.
